THE First World Hotel under Malaysia’s very own Resorts World Genting, has earned a Guinness World Records™ title. The hotel was recently awarded the coveted title – “World’s largest hotel”. The three-star hotel first claimed the title back in 2006. It held the title for seven years while it only had 6,118 rooms.
“We are very pleased to once again receive this recognition. The hotel has received over 35.5 million guests over the nine years since its first record in 2006. The endorsement by the world’s authority on this record-breaking achievement is icing on the cake. It spells further excitement for our iconic hill resort as it helps strengthen Malaysia on the international map for excellence in tourism and hospitality,” shared Resorts World Genting senior vice president of hotel operations Edward Holloway.
WORK IN PROGRESS
The resort is currently undergoing major renovation, upgrading and improving its hotel and theme parks to bring guests new dimensions in dining, accommodation and entertainment. The new block referred to as Annex 2A will deliver a new look to the hotel. It will feature freshly decorated rooms and state-of-the-art entertainment facilities plus F&B outlets.
The iconic hill resort will boast new living spaces in Tower 2 Annex, extensions to the existing tower 1 and tower 2.
These took 1.5 years of planning and costs the Genting Group approximately RM300 million.
In total, the new tower will offer an additional 1,286 rooms and will carry the names: XYZ Deluxe and XYZ Triple. The deluxe rooms will offer either two single beds or one queen-sized bed while the triple rooms will accommodate a single bed and a queen, making it ideal for a family or a company of three.
WORLD CLASS
Eager thrill-seeking fans can revel as the long-awaited 20th Century Fox World Theme Park will offer new rides and thrills in 2016. The resort will also feature Genting Premium Outlet, a shopping mall called Sky Avenue and an all-new cable car system.
Upping the ante, the recently crowned hotel will also have its own express check-in and check-out kiosks, making it the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The innovatively-designed walkway leading to the lobby will also showcase atmospheric “chillout” music to put guests in a serene mood.
The team behind Resorts World Genting went to great lengths to ensure that considerable thought and meticulous attention was put into creating a euphoric ambience for guests. After the facelift is completed, guests of the newly improved hotel can not only expect a considerable difference in its outlook but in the experience that awaits them.
This is due to the attention that has been focused on creating a memorable experience for guests, which includes a great bed to ensure a good night’s rest.
In all, the new Resorts World Genting is set to keep you on your toes as it elevates Malaysia’s premier holiday resort to a higher level.
