Iskandar dropped from position as PAS' state commissioner

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS' Selangor exco member Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad (pix) has been dropped from his position as the party's state commissioner.
Iskandar's post would be taken over by former Selangor exco member and Sabak assemblyman Sallehin Mukhyi, said PAS secretary-general Datuk Takyuddin Hassan in making the announcement of the new party lineup.
He added the decision to drop Iskandar, who is also the party's vice-president, was made by party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and agreed by PAS' central committee members.
"It will be hard for Iskandar if he had to be the commissioner and vice-president (at the same time)," he said in dismissing questions whether the decision was due to the ongoing political turmoil in Selangor.
"He (Iskandar) is actually promoted. Sallehin is a normal assemblyman without any exco position, thus has the time to manage Selangor," he told a press conference at PAS headquarters.
Two other states that received new faces as commissioners were Terengganu and Johor, now led by Datuk Husin Awang and Abdullah Hussin respectively. The other states retained their leaders.
He said Iskandar, along with the two other vice-presidents Idris Ahmad and Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, would be given new tasks of managing the party's election affairs in three different zones.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hadi's political secretary Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar was appointed as party's election director, replacing Datuk Mustafa Ali.
Ahmad Samsuri's appointment to the post would automatically made him as an exco in the party's central committee.
