Negri Sembilan to set up task force to ensure manifesto fulfilled

SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan government will set up a task force to ensure that all promises in the Pakatan Harapan's manifesto for the 14th General Election will be fulfilled.
Mentri Besar Aminuddin Harun said among the promises being given priority for implementation were the change of status of 99-year lease land to freehold land.
"We have asked the state's legislative to look into the matter and to consider implementing it as soon as possible as it involves the laws.
"The setting up of the task force is our priority so that we can ensure that all promises would be given attention and fulfilled," he told a press conference after chairing the state executive council meeting here today.
Meanwhile, Aminuddin said the state government had received an application from a foreign company to make an additional investment of RM1 billion in the state.
"It is an additional investment made by ON Semiconductor in Senawang as they wanted to expand the size of their factory. It involves an additional investment of RM1 billion and the creation of approximately 2,400 job opportunities.
"We will, of course, set a few terms and conditions for them. In principle, the state government has approved (the application), but it is subject to the state's Investment, Industrial and Entrepreneurship Committee's conditions," he said.
In another development, Aminuddin stressed that he viewed seriously the theft and manipulation of revenue collection involving sand, gravel and natural resources in the state.
He said he would submit a proposal on the need to give an incentive or reward to whistleblowers on the theft and manipulation of the state's natural sources.
"All sand and gravel mining operators in Negri Sembilan must adhere to the laws as the government does not want to lose even one ringgit from the state's revenue.
"I want to ensure that all operators are working honestly because what belongs to the state also belongs to the people and by preventing the theft and manipulation of the state's natural resources, we will also be able to increase the state's revenue," he added. — Bernama
