Police to monitor 23 accident-prone hotspots in Pahang

KUANTAN: Pahang police have identified 23 accident-prone hotspots in the state which will be given special focus during 'Op Selamat' in conjunction with Aidilfitri this year.
Pahang Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department head Supt Kamarulzaman Jusoh said among the locations were Jalan Pintasan Kuantan, the Pekan-Rompin route, Muadzam Shah-Segamat, Bentong-Raub, Raub-Kuala Lipis, Kuala Lipis-Merapoh.
"Instructions have been issued to all district traffic police chiefs to patrol more often in these areas to ensure that all road users comply with the rules.
"A total of 46 officers and 256 traffic policemen will be on duty during the execution of 'Op Selamat' from June 8 to June 22, and they will be assisted by the Road Transport Department (RTD) staff," he said.
Kamarulzaman said this to reporters after participating in the integrated operation in conjunction with Aidilfitri at the Kuantan Sentral Terminal here last night.
The operation also involved the RTD and the National Anti-Drug Agency.
