Sains sends water tanker lorry to assist affected residents in Kuala Nerus

SEREMBAN: Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (Sains) today sent a water tanker lorry with the capacity of 1,200 gallons to assist Syarikat Air Terengganu (Satu) following water supply disruption in Kuala Nerus.

Sains Public Relations Division head Norzita Ismail said two personnel and a tanker lorry left to Terengganu this morning to assist Satu to distribute water supply to most parts of Kuala Nerus district.

The water supply to the district was disrupted since Monday due to a burst pipe at the river bed of Sungai Terengganu which forced the Kepong 2 water treatment plant to cease operations.

“The effort is in line with the Memorandum of Understanding between Water Operators in Malaysia and hopefully with this assistance, it can ease the burden of consumers in the affected areas,” she said in a statement today.

Earlier, Sains hosted a brief send-off ceremony for the water tanker lorry at SAINS Jempol Operations Office.

The media reported that the water supply disruption affecting 28,700 account holders in Kuala Nerus and Kuala Terengganu is expected to be fully restored in another three to four days. -Bernama
