PETALING JAYA: Sixteen people including three representatives from One City Development Sdn Bhd (One City) believed to be part of the fracas at the Maha Mariamman Temple, Subang Jaya have been remanded between two to five days at the magistrate’s court.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham starting today until this Saturday.

The magistrate allowed the remand order against all the suspects aged between 18 to 49 years old for further investigations.

They are being investigated under Section 435 for mischief by fire or explosive substance, Section 148 for rioting, Section 427 for sabotage and Section 447 of the Penal Code with criminal trespassing.

Lawyers Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla and Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali who represented three of the representatives from the company said their clients were remanded between two to four days to assist with the investigation.

Three of the 16, who were unrepresented, are currently hospitalised and are being watched by the police.
