PETALING JAYA: A total of 46 countries are participating in the 21st edition of the Miss Tourism International 2018 World Final which is said to be “The Biggest Event of The Year”.

The Miss Tourism International (MTI) 2018 World Final with themed “Glitz and Glamour” will put Malaysia in the global spotlight on Dec 21 at the Sunway Hotel Resort and Spa, Petaling Jaya.

The pageant featuring 46 delegates taking part in tourism-related and promotional activities and events will be held from Dec 7 to 22.

D’Touch International managing director Tan Sri Danny Ooi said the event will be align with the event objective of “Promoting Tourism, Culture and Friendship” while empowering the delegates to propagate values in their respective country.

“The MTl was mooted to channel tourism to create and foster new relationships among the delegates while nurturing a better and closer understanding of one another’s national cultures, customs and traditions,” he said to press conference on the launch of Miss Tourism International 2018 World Final here.

Among the beauties present were from Armenia, Australian, Belarus, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Venezuela, Vietnam and Malaysia.

Beside the main MTI World Final title, there will also be four other title to be won, namely Miss Tourism Metropolitan International, Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International, Miss Tourism Global and Dreamgirl of The Year International.

There will also be a host of subsidiary titles to be awarded such as Best in National Costume, Best in Social Media, Miss a Friendship, Miss popularity and Best in Talent.

Since 2014, Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology has granted RM3 million of scholarships to D’Touch International for the Winners of MTI to promote Edu-Tourism around the world.

MTI has collaborated with Fusionex, an official technology partner to create the first time MTI Image Bank & Talent Data which gives the delegates a platform as an opportunity in advancing their career.

One Smart Star Malaysia has created MTI official voting app where the votes from the app will select 3 highest votes in the Top 10 to be awarded with the Miss Popularity title.

The Culture and Tourism Ministry has supported the MTI World Final since 1994.
