84 illegals from Indonesia deported via Tawau Port today

TAWAU: Eighty-four detained illegal migrants from Indonesia were repatriated today from Tawau Port.

Sabah National Security Council (MKN) director, Sh Sitti Saleha Habib said the repatriation via sea was the seventh in the series this year, involving illegals from Indonesia and the Philippines.

“The repatriation today brought the number of illegals sent back to their countries this January so far, to 1,215,“ she said in a statement.

According to her, this also brought the total number of illegals deported from Sabah to 592,206 since 1990.

“The repatriation exercise has been assisted by the Immigration Department, Royal Malaysia Police, Health Department and a number of other agencies.

“All the agencies involved are committed to making the repatriation process a success in fulfilling the trust of the people who do not wish to see the influx of illegal migrants into Malaysia, particularly Sabah,” she added. - Bernama
