Accuser tried to sexually assault my wife, says Anwar’s aide

PETALING JAYA: Wanted for questioning by the police over an alleged armed assault incident, Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak (pix) has now claimed that his accuser attempted to sexually assault his wife two years ago.

Farhash, who is also PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary, however said the police report lodged by the complainant over the incident, which took place in Ampang, had actually named his brother and not him.

“A police report naming my brother was made. However, I am willing to give my full cooperation if needed.

“I would also like to draw everyone’s attention to the fact that the complainant once attempted to rape and sexually assaulted my wife two years ago. He was arrested and faced trial for the charges,” Farhash said in a statement today.

Yesterday, police urged Farhash to turn himself in to assist an ongoing police investigation on the matter.

Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said yesterday 12 to 14 men were involved in the Merdeka eve incident in Ampang, Selangor, where the suspect is alleged to have shoved the complainant in the face upon seeing him.

After being told to leave by the sports complex management, the complainant supposedly went to the motorcycle parking area outside where he was attacked with knives, helmets and chairs by 10 men, resulting in injuries.

Farhash was remanded for four days on July 16 over a lewd video controversy linked to PKR members.
