PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has been appointed Deputy Inspector-General of Police, effective today.

Announcing the matter in a press conference here, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said Acryl Sani’s appointment was consented by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on the advice of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and recommendation of the Police Force Commission.

“We would like to congratulate Acryl Sani on his promotion,“ he said.

Acryl Sani, 59, previously held the post of the Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director.

Acryl Sani who holds a Master of Science in Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia, joined the Royal Malaysia Police on Feb 2, 1986, as a cadet assistant superintendent of police (ASP).

He has also held various positions including as the Sarawak police commissioner, Perak state police chief, Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director and Bukit Aman Strategic Resources and Technology Department director. - Bernama
