PETALING JAYA: PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will not be taking legal action against Muhammed Yusoff Rawther over the latter’s accusation of sexual assault.
Yusoff made an allegation last year that the PKR President had sexually assaulted him in October 2018. But on Jan 17, Solicitor-General (SG) Engku Nor Faizah Engku Atek, decided not to pursue any criminal action.
Anwar was advised by his lawyer Ramkarpal Singh not to pursue legal action saying, “It is now unnecessary to pursue the said proposed defamation suit as the good name of Anwar Ibrahim has been cleared as a result of the SG’s said decision.”
