JOHOR BARU: Nineteen flights arriving to and departing from the Senai International Airport yesterday evening were delayed due to bad weather in Kuala Lumpur from 3pm.

Senai Airport Terminal Services chief executive officer Md Derick Basir said today the affected flights were to or from Kuala Lumpur, Subang, Penang and Bangkok.

“These flights experienced a delay of between 10 and 60 minutes due to the bad weather in Kuala Lumpur from 3pm.

“Six flights, from Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Singapore, Surat Thani (Thailand) and Shenzen (China), were diverted from their original destination Kuala Lumpur to Senai,” he said in a statement to Bernama.

Md Derick said all the delayed and diverted flights departed after the weather improved later in the evening. The last scheduled flight departed at 11.50pm, he added.
