Covid-19: Sarawak Yang Di-Pertua Negeri donates RM120,500 to HUS

KUCHING: The Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud (pix) donates various equipment and essential items, worth RM120,500 to the Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) today, to help in the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

The contribution was handed over by his senior private secretary Datuk Mustapa Han to HUS director Dr Ngian Hie Ung and Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care department head Dr Teo Shu Ching, in a brief ceremony at the Yang di-Pertua Negeri’s office here.

In a statement issued by Astana Negeri Sarawak, the donation included one unit of Portable Ultrasound Linear Probe, anti DVT equipment (5), fibre optic scope (2), and syringe pump (2) for the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

The Governor also donated 700 food packs and mineral water to Sarawak Police Operations Room, to be distributed to police, Armed Forces a well as People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) personnel who are carrying out roadblocks during Movement Control Order (MCO).

He also urged Sarawakians to cooperate with the government by adhering to MCO, which was extended to April 14, to enable frontliners focus on their duties to curb the Covid-19 outbreak. -Bernama
