KUALA LUMPUR: All policies introduced by the government are for the future of the people, especially the younger generation, according to Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun.

She said the future direction of the young people in the country was in the hands of the current generation.

“Their future is in our hands, we decide. All policies that the government are making now is for their future. They are heirs of the nation,” she said after the 2019 Federal Territory’s Community Development Department (Kemas) Merdeka Convoy programme, here today.

Organised by Kemas, the programme involved 900 children from Federal Territory’s Kemas kindergartens, and one of the highlights was the performances of patriotic songs by 100 children from Kampung Pandan and government quarters complex in Jalan U-Thant’s Kemas kindergartens.

She said the programme was aimed at strengthening the love for the country as well as fostering volunteerism culture and cooperation between leaders and the community.

Earlier, Rina flagged off a convoy of 20 vehicles from the Kuala Lumpur Women Community Complex in Desa Pandan, heading to the Kampung Sri Batu Kemas Community centre here. — Bernama
