I will not be intimidated, says Latheefa

PETALING JAYA: Following a move to release audio recordings involving the phone conversations of several high profile individuals last week, certain quarters are plotting to tarnish the personal reputation of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefa Koya (pix).

“I have just learnt that as a reaction to the revelation on Jan 8, a criminal plot to fabricate and distribute material to taint my reputation has begun.

“We believe among those involved in this plot is a lawyer,” Latheefa said last night.

She said her special officer will lodge a police report early today and hand over evidence of the plot to the police.

Latheefa said she intended to send a clear message to the detractors behind the plot that she does not feel intimidated and will continue executing her duties as head of the MACC.

“The public has placed its trust in the commission to clean up the country of the scourge of corruption. I intend to carry out this duty despite the personal attacks and threats against me now or in future.” she said.
