MACC sets up operations room for Kimanis by-election

KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today has opened an operations room to enable the public to share information or make complaints on any corrupt activity or abuse of power during the Kimanis parliamentary by-election process.

Sabah MACC director S. Karunanithy said the 24-hour operations room is located at the Kota Kinabalu MACC office.

“Officials will also be deployed to several locations to monitor the election,” he told reporters here today.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Jan 18 as polling day for the Kimanis parliamentary by-election with nomination day on Jan 4 and early voting on Jan 14. — Bernama
