MACC urged to investigate Johor Bumiputera trust fund

JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has been urged to investigate the alleged misappropriation of funds from the Johor Tabung Akaun Amanah Sumbangan Kuota Bumiputera (Bumiputera quota contribution payment trust fund).

Senggarang state assemblyman Khairuddin Abdul Rahim said a report was lodged with the MACC today on the matter as an expenditure report involving hundreds of thousands of ringgit by a tourism agency on a working visit to London was found to be untrustworthy.

However, no date was given on when the visit was made.

“In an explanation on the expenditure given in an oral reply at the Johor State Assembly sitting yesterday, there were suspicious expenditure using money from the fund, on a working visit to London by a tourism agency,“ he told reporters when met outside the state MACC office, here today.

Also present were Permas state assemblyman Datuk Seri Che Zakaria Mohd Salleh and Pulai Sebatang state assemblyman Taqiuddin Cheman. — Bernama
