MUAR: The Youth and Sports Ministry will continue to match non-governmental organisations (NGO) with the youth through collaborative activities and programmes on their home ground.

Its Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (pix) said collaborations could give birth to new, creative and and fresh ideas, which can potentially benefit not only the community but also local and foreign visitors.

“For instance, Muar has many interesting places that could potentially be explored as tourist attractions including historical buildings, nature and recreational areas; while young people love to use the QR Code to get information quickly, the relevant NGOs can share their views.

“I believe practical and constructive ideas could come out of such cooperation and beneficial for the community in drawing tourists to the area,” he told Bernama after launching the ‘’Explore Muar Map’’ here yesterday.

Syed Saddiq, who is also Muar member of parliament, said the map, which is an initiative of Belia Sahabat Muar featured heritage sites, food and interesting locations in Muar, which is also known as Bandar Maharani Bandar Diraja.

Among the interesting locations shown on the map are Bukit Mor, Pantai Leka, Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim, Dataran Tanjung Emas and Jambatan Sultan Ismail.

“This Explore Muar Map will make it easier for tourists to find their way to any desired spot or eatery as the map contains all the locations favoured by local and foreign tourists.

“We are grateful to Kelab Belia Sahabat Muar for its efforts in highlighting Muar’s uniqueness,“ he added. — Bernama
