PETALING JAYA: The management of Berjaya Times Square Hotel has clarified that the “Kluster Slot Berjaya” announced by Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Dec 30 is not in reference to its hotel or the Berjaya Times Square shopping mall.

“Berjaya Times Square is not in the affected area and will remain open to guests with the highest standards of hygiene and regular deep sanitization as specified by theHealth Ministry,” said Berjaya Times Square Hotel manager May Cheong@Nurul Hidayah.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, Berjaya Hotels and Resorts has implemented stringent preventive measures across all their hotels and resorts, including providing separate entry and exit points for guests, Cheong said.

In addition, employees are required to wear face masks, gloves and face shields while on duty. Face masks and sanitisers have also been made available for guests.

Employees are also required to avoid physical contact with guests and only four people are allowed inside an elevator at a time.

All public areas and frequent-contact surfaces are disinfected regularly with dedicated cleaning equipment to prevent cross-contamination, and all guests are required to fill out a health declaration form or use the MySejahtera app.

The “Kluster Slot Berjaya” happened in Lembai Pantai through Covid-19 workplace screenings, where nine persons tested positive on Dec 30.
