KUALA LUMPUR: A man died while two others were injured in an accident involving four vehicles at Jalan Kuala Lumpur-Ipoh near the Guru Nanak plantation in Serendah last night.

Hulu Selangor district police chief DSP Azman Ab Rahman said in the 7.30pm incident, the victim, Mara’ai Md Aris, 57 a health assistant at the Gombak district health office, died at the scene.

Two other men, aged 48 and 20, were injured, one seriously while the other broke his right leg.

“Early investigations found that the Proton Saga Mara’ai was driving from Gombak and headed to Kuala Kubu Baru was suspected to have strayed into the opposite lane before colliding with a Perodua Myvi driven by a 48-year-old man.

“Another car (driven by a 21-year-old man) and a 20-year-old motorcyclist who were behind the Myvi could not avoid the collision and crashed as well,” he said when contacted.

The 21-year-old driver, however, escaped unhurt, he said, adding that Mara’ai’s body was sent to the Kuala Kubu Baru hospital for a post mortem while the injured victims were sent to the Selayang Hospital for treatment. — Bernama
