KUALA LUMPUR: Party Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) is standing firmly with the government of the day despite calls for the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muyhiddin Yassin to resign.

In a statement issued today, the party said it will still give full support for Muhyiddin and his entire Cabinet.

However, the party also said it strongly supports the constitutional monarchy and Yang Di-Pertuan Agong as the highest commander of the armed forces to carry out his duties under the constitution with the advice of the prime minister and the Cabinet.

“PAS stands firm with the prime minister in supporting all decisions made by the Cabinet,” PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said.

De Facto Law Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, who is also the party’s secretary-general, has expressed his frustration and said he was deeply anguished that the announcement on ending the Emergency had sparked confusion.
