SEREMBAN: Former Exco member of Putri Umno, Norashikin Abdul Rahman, 46, died of breast cancer at the National Cancer Institute, Putrajaya, today.
This was confirmed by the Seremban Division Wanita Umno Vice-Head, Wan Salwati Abdullah who said Norashikin breathed her last at 2.30pm.
She said Norashikin’s remains would be brought to her parents’ home in Kampung Jerangkang, Labu for burial tonight. She was formerly the Head of the Putri Umno Movement, Negri Sembilan and Head of the Rasah Putri Umno Movement.
“As far as I know, Norashikin had breast cancer for the past five years and had been strong in facing the illness.
“She would be buried at the Bukit Buak cemetery, Labu Hilir after the burial prayers held at the Labu Hilir Mosque after Isyak prayers,” she said when contacted by Bernama here.
Norashikin leaves her husband Zaimi Mahalil and seven children.
Norashikin held the post of Negri Sembilan Putri Umno head from 2004 until 2008, Exco Member of the Central Putri Umno movement from 2008-2012 and Head of the Rasah Putri Umno Division from 2001 until 2012. — Bernama
