Taiwan Expo 2019 overwhelms Penang next month

KUALA LUMPUR: Taiwan Expo 2019 will be back in Malaysia when making its way to Penang on July 5 and 6 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, following fruitful outings over the past two years in Kuala Lumpur.

Organised by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development Council, the event serves as platform for Malaysians to learn more about Taiwan, with up to 88% of visitors having expressed a desire to visit Taiwan within the year.

This year, Taiwan Expo has selected six main exhibition categories tailored to Penang’s development roadmap, consisting of Industry 4.0, Green Technology, Medical Care, Halal Products, Fashion, Culture & Tourism.

More than 100 manufacturers across 110 booths are participating in the exhibition, according to a statement.

The 12 theme pavilions and two exhibit areas are selected to highlight the strengths of Taiwanese world class research and development, production capacity and marketing prowess.

In addition, Taiwan Halal & Bubble Tea Pavilion will strengthen the technical cooperation in Malaysia and Taiwan’s halal industry by presenting the best halal certified Taiwanese products to Malaysia, together with sharing sessions and the Nyonya cuisine delights, via the use of Taiwanese halal ingredients by Penang Celebrity Chef, Nurilkarim.

Activities during the expo include business meets, press conferences, seminars, product demonstrations, and cultural performances to introduce Malaysians to Taiwanese tourism, education, culture and other industries. — Bernama
