Three friends living luxuriously on drug money, busted

KEPALA BATAS: The secret of three individuals, including a woman, who were living a life of luxury despite being unemployed was uncovered after police arrested them for trafficking drugs in their home in Lahar Bubu Permatang Buluh here, yesterday.

Seberang Perai Utara police chief ACP Noorizainy Mohd Noor said the three friends aged between 27 and 53 were arrested during a raid at 4pm yesterday following intelligence gathering by the police over the past two weeks.

“During the raid, police also seized 353g of heroin and 1.5g of syabu, worth a total of about RM17,500. Investigations found the drugs were for sale in Penaga area and the three suspects had been involved in drug trafficking for the past few months,“ he said in a statement, here today.

He said urine tests found all of them to be drug-positive, and they are currently remanded for seven days to assist investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — Bernama
