Three Ops Covid personnel injured as police MPV crashes into tree

SEREMBAN: Three security forces personnel were injured in a crash involving a police mobile patrol vehicle (MPV) carrying OP COVID-19 officers, at Taman Lavender Heights, Senawang, near here today.

Seremban police chief ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim said in the 1pm incident, two policemen and two soldiers were on patrol in a Proton Inspira police MPV in the Senawang area.

“Upon arriving at the scene at a left bend heading down the hill, a 41-year-old policeman driving the vehicle found that the brakes were not working, and the vehicle skidded and rammed into a tree on the right shoulder of the road.

“The collision left the driver with minor injuries to his body and legs, while a 38-year-old policeman who was sitting in the front passenger seat suffered minor injuries to his hands and lips. A 31-year-old soldier who was sitting in the back fractured his backbone,“ he said in a statement here, today.

Mohd Said said another 24-year-old soldier escaped unharmed.

“All of them were sent to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban,“ he added. - Bernama
