A PROPERTY developer thought it was a good idea to employ a group of topless women to help sell its apartments. The idea succeeded in attracting interest, unfortunately that included the attention of the authorities.
The developer in Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi region in southern China, tried this novel method in an attempt to push up flagging real estate in the city.
Photos and videos went viral on Chinese social media over the weekend. The online postings show four shirtless women seated at the counter of the real estate agency’s sales office. They have butterfly designs painted on their chests while their backs showed floor plans for units available in the new South Station City residential community.
“The whole of Nanning knows about it,“ one of the developer’s workers was quoted as saying by The Paper of China. The police paid the developer a visit, and now the real estate office will have its doors shut.
