IN order to improve on the necessary knowledge and skills needed to propel careers to greater heights, postgraduate students are being invited to enroll in First City University College’s (First City UC) Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.

As many postgraduate students are often already employed, First City UC’s MBA programme provides the flexibility to choose either a one year duration for full-time students or a two year duration for part-time students.

Through the programme, students will be coached by lecturers with years of experience in the corporate sector, with the goal of developing a critical awareness of contemporary issues as well as the ability to apply advanced theoretical business concepts. Along the way, students will be taught how to create and implement strategic plans as required when working in an organisation.

By analysing real-life case studies through group discussions, debate and evaluate each other, students will be able to further hone their business acumen, which will help them to navigate the challenging terrain of the business world.

In this manner, students will be trained to demonstrate independent thinking; a vital aspect in dealing with the pressures of mid to high-level management positions such as Chief Executive Officer, Management Consultant, Operations Director, Marketing Director and more.

Understanding that many companies, both local and multinational, value employees with a global business outlook, the partnership First City UC has with the United Kingdom’s Anglia-Ruskin University provides students with a dual-award programme.

According to First City UC Business, Hospitality and Communication Dean Robert Cheong, students will benefit much from the partnership as it allows the institution to provide them with a syllabus that reflects today’s globalised corporate scenario. The knowledge gained will serve as a foundation for their possible doctoral studies.

Cheong added that the Entrepreneurship and Innovation, along with the Ethics and Sustainability Business Management modules would provide students with an edge over others in the job market.

On the other hand, Cheong shared that corporations, especially manufacturers, have started to value the importance of environmental sustainability. Companies these days are expected to practice good governance when it comes to preserving the pristine condition of the environment.

Among the first batch of students under the ARU partnership, alumna Prisca Ang shared that the module on Entrepreneurship gave her an insight on the right way to run a business effectively. Furthermore, she added that the MBA’s small class setting made it easier for everyone to participate in group discussions.

Those interested in career advancement are encouraged to enroll in First City UC’s September intake. Students that are fast to sign up will enjoy 15% off their tuition fee, while First City UC alumni that register will be rewarded with a 25% programme incentive.

Prospective students will stand to benefit from a wholesome and world-class education as First City UC is equipped with a wide array of teaching facilities, including a library, IT Centre, Centre for Postgraduate Studies as well as lecture and seminar rooms.

An ideal choice as the institution boasts a proven track record of producing highly employable graduates over the last 30 years, First City UC’s stellar achievement comes from its industry-relevant and Malaysian Qualification Agency-accredited curricula.
