Providing continuing education in tandem with society’s current needs

Management and Science University (MSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for the provision of Micro-Credential qualifications at MSU.

Signing for the University in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Higher Education in Putrajaya recently was MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, MQA chief executive officer Profesor Dato’ Dr Mohammad Shatar Sabran and representatives from seven institutions of higher education. Witnesses of the signing ceremony were Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.

Also, present were ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, deputy secretary-general (policy) Datuk Dr Megat Sany Megat Ahmad Supian, its deputy secretary-general (management and development) Dr Mohd Zabri Yusoff, and Higher Education director-general Prof Datuk Dr Husaini Omar.

Offered through MSU’s Continuing and Extended Education Centre (CEdEC), Micro-Credentials are qualifications awarded upon completion and assessment of short, competency-based training designed to fulfil a growing need for comprehensive education in preferred areas of study.

CEdEC was established with the aim to excel at providing continuing education in tandem with society’s current needs. Promoting lifelong education, CEdEC offers programs that suit best those in need of flexibility in the scheduling and overall conduct of the teaching and learning experiences.

MSU currently offers Micro-Credential courses in Music, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Fashion and Beauty, Account and Finance, Business and Marketing, Media Science and Graphics, Medical and Health Sciences, Language and Communication, Education and Social Sciences, and Information Science and Technology.

Lifelong learners from all walks of life may access MSU’s range of undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes, and choose from a variety of study modes to fit their situation best: whether to attend classes on the weekdays, the weekends, or in the evenings or to opt for virtual learning that runs via video conference supported by online discussion.
