Rizal Nainy appointed as SME Corp CEO

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives has appointed Rizal Nainy (pix) as the new CEO of SME Corp Malaysia, effective July 21, 2020.

Rizal has vast experience in small and medium enterprises (SME) development and entrepreneurship. Graduated from the Imperial College, University of London in Mechanical Engineering and Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Charles Sturt University, Australia, Rizal joined SME Corp Malaysia on June 1, 2016. He was the chief officer of implementation and monitoring at SME Corp Malaysia overseeing the planning and implementation of SME development programmes in Malaysia.

Prior to joining SME Corp Malaysia, Rizal has six years of experience in the field of strategic transformation under the Prime Minister’s Department which formulates strategies and drives the economic transformation programmes. He was assigned to high profile projects, such as the electrical & electronics key economic areas (particularly in LED, semiconductor, solar and industrial electronics), innovation, nanotechnology, electric vehicles, rail, smart grid, as well as carrying out programme management and business re-engineering.

He also had 16 years of experience with Shell locally and globally, and held various positions, as well as having professional expertise encompassing oil & gas downstream retail business.
