10 promising new Kpop groups that are causing a BUZZ

While the worldwide pandemic seems to have slowed everything down, the Kpop world is busy with activity! Just this year alone, there are over 40 new Kpop groups debuting. Since we can’t list all of the groups in this page alone, we’ve shortlisted 10 new and promising Kpop groups to keep your ears and eyes out for.

Secret Number

Secret Number is a five-member girl group under Vine Entertainment. The group consists of Jinny, Denise, Soodam, Dita and Lea. If they look familiar, it’s because they have appeared in television programmes such as Product 48 and K-Pop Star. They have two songs out titled Who Dis? and Got That Boom. Their first single Who Dis? is brassy and fierce, and it’s a song to listen to if you need a confidence boost.

Cravity is a nine-member boy band under Starship Entertainment. The band consists of Serim, Allen, Jungmo, Woobin, Wonjin, Minhee, Hyeongjun, Taeyoung and Seongmin. Cravity debuted with their title track Break All The Rules which is an edgy, hip hop song. The energetic tune is also a good song for workouts. However, in their song Cloud 9, they showed that they can handle different genres and styles. Cloud 9 is a sunny and cheery song, perfect for vacations and summer.

P1Harmony is a six-member boy band under FNC Entertainment. The group consists of Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul and Jongseob. They debuted with an edgy and heavy hip hop song titled SIREN. The powerful and addictive riffs in SIREN make it a good song to play when you need a push whether it’s during your workout or when you feel stuck in a situation.

TREASURE is a thirteen-member boy band under YG Entertainment. The group consists of: Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshinori, Junkyu, Mashiho, Jaehyuk, Asahi, Yedam, Haruto, Doyoung, Jeongwoo and Junghwan. Their song MMM is a catchy hip hop song which you’ll find yourself trying to rap along. According to members of TREASURE, MMM is a song that’s different from their previous works. The seamless switch shows their versatility which definitely puts them in the list of groups to keep an eye on.

Weeekly is a seven-member girl group under Play M Entertainment. The group consists of Soojin, Jiyoon, Monday, Soeun, Jaehee, Jihan and Zoa. Their second EP titled We Can was released on October 13 with the title track Zig Zag. Zig Zag is a good song to dance to and be goofy with friends due to its lively and cute tune. Officially on August 23, 2020, their fandom name is Daileee, for “Without Daileee, Weeekly cannot exist.”

cignature is a seven-member girl group under C9 Entertainment. The group consists of Chaesol, Jeewon, Ye Ah, Sunn, Seline, Belle and Semi. Their lead single Nun Nu Nan Na is addictive with their powerful voices. Cignature has an EP out, titled Listen and Speak, which include their first two singles, Nun Nu Nan Na and Assa.

To be honest, BOTOPASS is in the list due to their unique name. BOTOPASS (Born To Be Passion) is an eight-member girl group under XX Entertainment and WKS ENE. The group consist of Mihee, Seoyoon, Cui Xiang, Jiwon, Shiho, Ria, Harin and Ahyoon. Their first single Flamingo gives off a salsa and dancy vibe.

XRO is a hip hop duo group under Major9 Entertainment consisting of Jaechan and Hiro. The two guys have appeared in Menet’s Produce 101 in Season 2 and JTBC’s Mixnine. They debuted with their first single Welcome to my Jungle. The energetic pump of the song is definitely great for cardio workouts and it’s a song you can vibe to.

Previously known as NeonPunch, they’re debuting again under the new name XUM (Xumething Unlimited Move). XUM is a 3-member girl group consisting of Dayeon, Baekah and Iaan. The trio debuted with their first single DDALALA. With hot dance moves, they bring a hot fiery energy.

CHECKMATE under Grace Company Entertainment is unique simply because it’s a co-ed group. The group members are SiEun, Suri, Haechang, YongSeok and Noah. Their song titled DRUM is upbeat and edgy, making it easily another danceable track. Coupled with their sharp dance moves, you’ll find yourself swaying to the beat.
