KUALA LUMPUR: Three men involved in a drunken brawl at Section 17A/6, Damansara here, yesterday, have been arrested by the police.

Petaling Jaya District Police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the police were informed of the fight at 7.24 pm, which also involved an attempt to run down members of the public with a car.

He the said police rushed to the scene and arrested two local men aged 20 and 21 who were believed to be involved in the fight.

“The police also seized a Proton Wira car used by a suspect,” he said in a statement today.

Nik Ezanee said background checks found that the 20-year-old suspect had five criminal records involving Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt; Section 148 of the Penal Code for possessing a weapon and rioting; and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

He said according to witnesses, another man involved in the fight had allegedly broken the windshield of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

“However, the police managed to track down and arrest the third suspect this afternoon. Further investigations are still underway to look at the cause of the incident,“ he said, adding that the three suspects were remanded for three days to assist the investigation. — Bernama
