KOTA KINABALU: Kowangan, the Sabah Ministry of Finance Staff Cooperative, can be a platform to foster the cooperative spirit and team spirit among staff of the Sabah Ministry of Finance and its agencies, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pix).
Mohd Shafie, who is also Sabah Minister of Finance said this would help civil servants in the ministry to always work together in improving the delivery of service to the public.
“It is the spirit of cooperation besides building networks, commitments and unity towards a joint objective of looking after the welfare of members,” he said at a Kowangan dinner event here last night.

Mohd Shafie since it was set up in 1990, Kowangan had improved the socio-economic status of its members by sharing profits gained from its activities as well as contributing to society through its corporate social responsibility programmes.
Kowangan’s membership comprises officers and staff of the Sabah Ministry of Finance, state Treasury Department and the state Computer Services Department, with 475 cooperative pioneers. — Bernama
