House-breaking suspects nabbed after crashing into police motorcycle

KUALA LUMPUR: Two suspected burglars were arrested after their car crashed into a police motorcycle while trying to escape inspection in Taman Midah, Cheras yesterday.

Cheras district police chief ACP Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon said two policemen had tried to flag down the suspects at 5pm, following a house-breaking report lodged by a trader 30 minutes earlier.

“However, the driver accelerated the car in an attempt to flee and hit a motorcycle belonging to one of the policemen at a road intersection in Taman Midah,” he told Bernama today.

He said police arrested the suspects shortly after. Inspection of the vehicle found among others a wrecking bar, a pair of earrings and four bracelets.

He said the car used by the suspects was reported stolen in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

Mohamed Mokhsein said the suspects, aged 39 and 41, tested positive for drugs and had 15 and 12 previous criminal records, respectively. - Bernama
