HULU SELANGOR: The development agenda for youth and women will be the main focus of Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Pang Sock Tao’s campaign for the Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) by-election.

Pang, 31, said the agenda will be included in the manifesto that would be launched soon.

“At the same time, I will continue the development plans established by the late Lee Kee Hiong for the KKB state constituency.

“We will move forward as a team and the (viral video of Pang critising Barisan Nasional) is an old video and everything has changed now after the formation of the Unity Government,” she said when met after the KKB by-election nomination process at the Hulu Selangor Multipurpose Hall and District Sports Complex here today.

The former press secretary to the Minister of Housing and Local Government will be challenged by Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut, Hafizah Zainuddin of Parti Rakyat Malaysia and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin.

Pang began her election campaign by going on a walkabout around Bandar Utama Batang Kali and Taman Millenium near here.

Meanwhile, Khairul Azhari, 54, is determined to provide the best service to the people in the constituency if given the mandate in the election, while Nyau, 29, who uses a motorcycle logo, expressed his commitment to addressing the people’s issues, such as the rising cost of living.

Hafizah, 50, who will unveil her manifesto tomorrow, said her campaign for the by-election will focus on several issues.

“We will explain to the people about our struggle on several issues, and our promise is to fix what is not right now,” she said.

The KKB by-election is being held following the demise of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, 58, on March 21 due to cancer.

Polling day is set for May 11, with early voting scheduled for May 7.
