KUALA LUMPUR: Police detained a man suspected of ramming his car into another individual’s vehicle at a parking lot of a condominium here on Monday.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said the 35-year-old suspect was detained on Wednesday following a police report filed by a man.

He said that initial investigations revealed that the complainant and his girlfriend had an argument in their condominium unit, leading to loud noises that angered the suspect, who is a friend of another tenant in the house.

“The misunderstanding did not end at the condominium unit with the suspect intentionally ramming his car into the complainant’s vehicle as it was exiting the parking lot,” he said in a statement today.

Ku Mashariman said that the complainant’s was severely damaged, but he did not suffer any injuries in the incident.

He said the suspect, who has previous criminal records, has been remanded for three days to facilitate investigations under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

A 27-second video depicting a car driver ramming into another vehicle went viral on social media yesterday.
