PETALING JAYA: Political blogger Wan Azri Wan Deris popularly known as Papagomo will be remanded by the police beginning from today until tomorrow.

The latest development comes after the police arrested him for allegedly issuing seditious remarks against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Wan Azri’s lawyer Rafique Rashid told FMT the investigating officer had applied to remand him for four days to complete their investigation, while the defence objected to the remand request.

Wan Azri was earlier brought before the Dang Wangi remand court this morning at around 9.30am.

Rafique added that the magistrate gave a remand of two days until May 2, tomorrow after listening to arguments from both sides.

Earlier, it was reported that Wan Azri is alleged to have issued the remarks in a two-minute and 46-second video, where he questioned the king’s decision to grant an audience to KK Mart owner Chai Kee Kan.

A video of Wan Azri’s arrest by two police personnel went viral earlier yesterday.
