SHAH ALAM: Police are on the hunt for two men suspected of being involved in an armed robbery at a grocery store in Kebun Baru, Telok Panglima Garang, near here yesterday.

Kuala Langat police chief Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Salleh said the department received information about the incident from the store owner at 3 pm.

“Investigations found that one of the suspects entered the store with his face covered using a shirt while another waited in the car.

“The suspect, armed with a machete, then fled with a drawer containing cash, two mosque donation boxes and a mobile phone belonging to the store’s employee,“ he said in a statement here yesterday.

Ahmad Ridhwan said initial investigations found that the store owner suffered losses of around RM3,000.

He said the case was being investigated under sections 395/397 of the Penal Code, which carried a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment, a fine, or caning, upon conviction.
