JOHOR BAHRU: Police arrested three men last afternoon to facilitate investigation into a fight at an entertainment centre in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Skudai, near here, three days ago.

Johor Police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the men, aged between 21 and 28, were arrested in Skudai at about 7pm and are currently being investigated under Section 148 and 324 of the Penal Code.

He said efforts were being made to detain the remaining suspects believed to be involved in the incident while the police were also trying to ascertain whether any secret societies were involved.

“At 6.30pm yesterday, a viral video involving a fight among a group of men inside an entertainment centre and along a sidewalk was detected by the police.

“After reviewing the video, police confirmed that the incident happened at about 11.45pm in ​​Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, last Saturday,“ he said in a statement last night.

Ayob Khan said the investigation revealed that the fight broke out over a patron’s girlfriend resulting in a commotion which escalated into a brawl involving other patrons.

He said at 10pm yesterday (5 Jan), police also raided the premises and confiscated a number of musical instruments.

According to him, the owners of the premises are also subject to action under Section 6(2) of the Johor Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment for operating without an entertainment licence and violating the standard operating procedures of the Conditional Movement Control Order. — Bernama
