PETALING JAYA: The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) will engage with dissatisfied 1Malaysia People’s Housing Scheme (PR1MA)’s early buyers who claim to have incurred losses after purchasing the homes with original prices.

Its minister, Zuraida Kamaruddin said the meeting will be held by next month.

She added, the ministry has received and compiled over 500 buyers’ appeals from around the country.

However in the press conference, no commitment was made whether these buyers will be compensated.

“I will have meeting with them, engagement process to discuss ... I already told some of them (about the meeting), they are waiting,” she told reporters after witnessing the exchange of documents between PR1MA and its developers in Subang Jaya, here, yesterday.

Zuraida said that developers had also offered up to 30% discount and rebates to new purchasers in a way to increase the number of buyers for homes within the range of RM250,000 to RM270,000.

In July this year, 1,058 individuals filed originating summons against PR1MA at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, calling for PR1MA’s discounts to be declared “null and void”. - Bernama
