MERMAIDS, the legendary half-human, half marine creatures — have fascinated people for centuries and inspired many “sightings.”
This March, Sunway Lagoon’s Waves of Fun programme presents Mermaids Alive! Want to know what it takes to be a Mermaid? From March 23 to 31, visitors can look forward to mermaid related activities, including meet and greet sessions with the mermaids, Mermaids Makeover, and Swim with the Mermaids.
For the little mermaid aspirants, head to Titan Scuba Asia to learn how you can breathe underwater with scuba equipment. This activity is exclusively for kids aged from 5 to 11 years old. There are also a host of other fun and exiciting activities like Mini Golf, Aqua Volley and Tic Tac Toe.
“In recent times, mermaid-inspired trends have truly taken flight in so many aspects of our lives, from fashion to make-up to hairstyles to mermaid-inspired food and décor, making mermaids a distinct part of modern culture, which was why we decided the time was right to put together an event like this for the school holidays,” said Sunway Lagoon general manager Sean Choo.
There will also be meet and greet sessions and photo opportunities with Captain Quack and Lady Quack, SpongeBob and Patrick in Pirates overlay!, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dora the Explorer and her best friend, Boots.
Exclusive mermaid merchandise will also be available for purchase including keychains, t-shirts and mermaid tail pool floats.
Guests who participate in the various on-ground activities will stand a chance to win a RM30 cash voucher from GEM Studio, a RM20 cash voucher from Havanians and a 50% off voucher for a Mermaid swimming course.
