Harley-Davidson Penang reopens

HARLEY-DAVIDSON Motor Company announced the official re-opening of its authorised dealership in Penang recently.

It is located at the Juru Auto City in Jalan Perusahaan, Auto City, Prai, Penang.

Owners and riders from around the country as well as the management of the dealership gathered at the dealership on the opening day, which saw a big party typical of a Harley-Davidson dealership opening.

Together with Harley-Davidson of Melaka and Harley-Davidson of Petaling Jaya, “Harley-Davidson of Penang” reinforces the brand’s commitment to expanding its footprint and strengthening its dealership network in this growing market.

GB Motorcycles Sdn Bhd is the new operator of Harley-Davidson of Penang, which is a partnership between Goh Brothers Group (an automotive retail group) and Kheoh Hock Seng (a specialist in premium motorcycles in Penang).

Harley-Davidson Asia Emerging Markets managing director Johan Kleinsteuber said: “With strong commitment to the Malaysian market since 2008, Harley-Davidson is devoted to building up a trusted community for local biking enthusiasts and establishing a robust dealership network across the country.

“Our dealerships are important to us as they lie at the core of delivering the full premium Harley-Davidson motorcycling experience to customers.

“We are excited to have GB Motorcycles Sdn Bhd as our partner, and will be working closely with them to inspire more people to experience the Harley-Davidson brand and build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders.”

GB Motorcycles and Didi Resources (sole-distributor and importer of Harley-Davidson in Malaysia) director Goh Kian Sin said: “GB Motorcycles Sdn Bhd is honoured to be one of the trusted partners of Harley-Davidson in Malaysia.

“Harley-Davidson of Penang will offer Harley-Davidson’s entire range of bikes, original parts for motorcycle customisation, branded apparel and riding gear, and best-in-class after-sales services.

“We look forward to providing customers and local fans greater access to the iconic Harley-Davidson retail experience, and building up a strong local biking community up north of Peninsular Malaysia.”

In conjunction with the opening, the dealership handed over Malaysia’s first unit of the three-wheeler 2019 Tri Glide Ultra in Malaysia to a customer in Penang.

With 12 staff, the RM6 million dealership occupies a 557-square metre property.

It is open from 9am to 6pm from Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays, it is open from 11am to 6pm. Its sales and merchandise sections operate on public holidays too.
