Experience the horror in Lovecraft Country this August

Fans of horror are familiar with the works of legendary author HP Lovecraft, the very same man who famously created the lore of Cthulhu, will get to revisit the terrifying Lovecraftian monsters they’ve come to know and love on their screens this August.

Based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Matt Ruff, the ten-episode series titled Lovecraft Country follows a war veteran Atticus Freeman (played by Jonathon Majors) who is looking for his missing father (Michael K. Williams). His father sent his son a letter saying he’s in a place called Lovecraft Country which holds a secret to his family legacy.

In his quest to unearth the mystery, Atticus with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) go on a road trip from Chicago across 1950s Jim Crow America. They have to overcome both the racist terrors of white America and terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft novel in their search-and-rescue mission.

The show is executive produced by Jordan Peele, JJ Abrams, Misha Green, Bill Carraro, Yann Demange, Daniel Sackheim and David Knoller.

Lovecraft County premieres at the same time as the US on Monday, 17 August at 9am exclusively on HBO GO. The episode will air on the same day at 10pm on HBO (Astro Ch 411 HD). New episodes will be shown at the same time every Monday.
