Incendo starts production of two romcoms ‘Written in the Stars’ and ‘The Secret Sauce’

Good news for all romcom fans! Incendo and Screentime New Zealand have commenced production of two more films, Written in the Stars and The Secret Sauce.

Written in the Stars features New Zealand actors Kimberley Crossman (Golden Boy, Funny Girls, Together Forever Tea) and David De Lautour (Wentworth, Westside, Touch).

The story follows Kelsey who works at a magazine and had her pitch about a sceptic’s take on love and horoscope approved. She was teamed up with an astrology guru named Carter. Clearly from opposite worlds, they put their competing perspectives aside to work the story around a local meteor shower festival. Through both fact and fate, they soon unearth that love really can be written in the stars.

Written in the Stars is directed by acclaimed director Thomas Robins with the script written by David Elver. The film is being shot on location in New Zealand.

In The Secret Sauce, Laura is a Chicago marketing executive sent to oversee a small mid-west town cook-off and entice Jim, the local barbecue joint owner, to let her license his family’s secret BBQ sauce. As two very different worlds collide, with a dash of trust and splash of mutual admiration, a new-found friendship slowly marinades into something much bolder and sweet.

The Secret Sauce stars Canadian actors Tori Anderson (Blindspot, Tru calling, You May Kiss the Bridesmaid) and Corey Sevier (North Shore, Lassie, Little Men). The story is written by Tatiana Krokar. Incendo will collaborate once again with director Philippe Gagnon in this film.

Both films are produced in association with Citytv to air as part of Citytv’s fan-favourite Fall in Love Fridays lineup.

Incendo has wrapped production on its first three Rom Coms of the 2021 slate, with Written in the Stars and The Secret Sauce rounding out five completed films by mid-Spring, and a collection of compelling content in various stages of development for the remainder of the year.
