2021 Final Intakes for Diploma and Degree Programmes at HELP University

Generally, HELP offers five programmes that enable SPM and O-Level students to to complete a bachelor’s degree programme in business via a fast-track route at both HELP University and HELP Academy. These are the Diploma in Business, Diploma in IT, Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Accounting and the Diploma in Communication.

Where normally it would take four years, SPM/O-level leavers can now obtain a bachelor’s degree in business in three and a half years, with substantial benefits. Apart from savings in fees and living expenses, graduates are able to enter the job market sooner and have a head-start in gaining experience to improve their career and promotion prospects.

The Diploma in Business at HELP University (HU) offered by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting (FBEA) prepares students to enter into the second year of business-related degree programmes. The curriculum provides a strong background for degree specialisation in accounting, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, business psychology, business analytics, marketing, human resource management, international business, management, hospitality and tourism management.

Other factors that make the Diploma in Business programme a highly attractive proposition is that its graduates enjoy the flexibility to progress into a business degree programme at HU or some world’s top-ranking universities such as the University of Queensland, University Leeds and University of Liverpool, just to name a few. Besides, Diploma in Business students who progress into a Bachelor of Business programme is eligible for a subsidised study trip to Australia or China to enhance their study experience.

The Bachelor of Business Accounting (Hons) programme is granted accreditation or maximum exemptions by professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia, and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business (Finance) (Hons) programme will not only graduate with a HU’s certificate, but also with an internationally recognized Bloomberg Market Concepts Certificate issued by Bloomberg Finance L.P., a well-known Financial Software company that delivers business and markets news, data, analysis, and video to the world. This programme is also affiliated with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. Furthermore, graduates of this programme are equipped with a solid grounding in CFA’s Candidate Body of Knowledge and position them well to sit for the CFA examinations.

HELP’s Bachelor of Business students are able to complete the final year of their bachelor degree at the University of Queensland (UQ), one of the top eight universities in Australia under the exclusive 2+1 credit transfer arrangement. HELP is the only institution in Malaysia to have this exclusive arrangement in recognition of the high quality and standard of the business programmes offered at HELP. Apart from UQ, the credits earned in the FBEA programmes can be transferred to other top-ranking universities in the world such as the University of Leeds, the University of Liverpool, the Australian National University (ANU), and the University of Melbourne to name a few

Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology provides a thorough grounding in fundamental skills as well as theoretical understanding. Students learn 4IR subjects like IoT, Big Data, Software Development, AI, Machine learning, Cloud Computing and Blockchain with specialisms in Data Engineering, Computer Networking, Mobile Computing, e-Business, and Web-Engineering.

It also allows a fast-track to degree programmes in the University of Queensland, Beijing Jiaotong University, University of Technology Sydney and the Eastern Institute of Technology New Zealand.

Other fast-track programmes are offered by the Department of Management Studies (DOMS), HELP Academy: The Diploma in Business Management and the Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in Marketing which stream into three 3+0 degree programmes offered in collaboration with the University of Derby (UoD), UK: the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance, BA (Hons) Business Management and the BA (Hons) Business Management (International Business).

The University of Derby is ranked among the top 30 in the UK by the Guardian University Guide 2020 and among the top 10 for Business, Management, Marketing and Accounting and Finance by the same guide.

Upon graduation, UoD students receive an additional qualification: The Advanced Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the UK’s chartered body for management and leadership.

Students with the DOMS Diploma are able to complete the UoD degree in three and a half years instead of the usual four. Besides acquiring an internationally recognised UK degree, they also enjoy a subsidised 10-day study trip to the UoD campus in Derby, UK.

SPM holders with just one credit can also obtain a UoD degree in four and a half years: First, they enter the Certificate in Business Management or Certificate in Business Information Systems, then proceed to the Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Accounting or Diploma in Marketing before being admitted into Year 2 of a UoD degree programme.

The Faculty of Arts and Communication of HELP University is acknowledged as a hub of academic excellence and creativity in three majors it offers: Media Studies, Marketing Communication and Public Relations.

Its Diploma in Communication provides a strong foundation for students to enter any one of the degree majors. The teaching is supported by a mini film studio, video editing suite and a graphic design lab. The Dip Com permits entry into Year 2 of the BCom, thus enabling SPM students to graduate in four years.

Modules taught in Dip Com include multimedia design, entrepreneurship, data analytics, creative media production, advertising and digital marketing.

In line with MOHE’s recent announcement on the opening of campus from 15th October 2021, face-to-face classes are available for selected October intake’s programmes.
