Report: Blue Jackets facility remains closed amid outbreak

25 Nov 2020 / 00:22 H.

Columbus Blue Jackets facilities remain closed for a second week after a "significant" number of players tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week to 10 days, TSN reported Tuesday.

In a statement to the network, the club confirmed positive tests for "several" players.

"Those players immediately began to quarantine and the club closed its off-ice facilities at Nationwide Arena beginning the week of November 16," the Blue Jackets said in a statement to TSN.

"The organization has and will continue to follow all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of our players, staff and community at large."

The team said players are expected to return to facilities next week for voluntary off- and on-ice workouts.
