THERE continued to be incidents of expired goods remaining on shelves for customers to unknowingly buy.

On Sept 11, two packets of dog treats were on the shelves for sale at a supermarket in Selangor.

Upon inspection, the expiry date was June 3, 2020.

It means that the expired treats had been left on the shelf for more than three months for customers to buy.

It may be animal food but animals are like humans.

Eating expired food may cause them medical problems.

I believe there are rules that expired goods cannot be displayed or sold.

As customers, we should take time to check the expiry dates before buying food.

If the goods are past their expiry dates, we should make the effort to complain to the relevant authorities.

We should not accept an apology and a refund.
